49 CFR 173.12 contains many useful exceptions from the Hazardous Material Regulations for shipments of hazardous waste.  One of them addressed in this article is the relief from the requirement to include the technical name of a hazardous material when the proper shipping name used is identified as being "Generic" by the presence of a "G" in column one of the Hazardous Materials Table.  Read on to learn when you may take advantage of this regulatory exception.

RCRA: Both USEPA and State regulations dictate the need for annual training of applicable employees of generators of hazardous waste @ 40 CFR 262.34(a)(4) and 40 CFR 265.16.

DOT: USDOT requires triennial training of HazMat Employees @ 49 CFR Subpart H.
