Why is training required?

RCRA: Both USEPA and State regulations dictate the need for annual training of applicable employees of generators of hazardous waste @ 40 CFR 262.34(a)(4) and 40 CFR 265.16.

DOT: USDOT requires triennial training of HazMat Employees @ 49 CFR Subpart H.

Who is required to be trained?

RCRA: Persons employed at the site of a waste generator who handle hazardous waste as part of their job.

DOT: A person who in the course of employment directly affects hazardous materials transportation safety.
