Speaking Engagements

Do you need a speaker for the next meeting of your professional organization?

…I can help.

What are Speaking Engagements?

I provide a presentation on a regulatory topic at a meeting of your professional organization.  It can be at a regular monthly or quarterly meeting or an annual conference or expo.  The presentation may be a short (1 hour) Technical/Educational Session or a much longer Professional Development Course.

How Do Speaking Engagements Work?

You get a high-quality presentation on a regulatory issue of interest to your members (see below) at no cost.  In return, I am given an opportunity to demonstrate my training skills to potential customers.

How Much Does a Speaking Engagement Cost?

I have no fee for a Speaking Engagement, though reimbursement for some travel costs is appreciated.  My payment comes from the opportunity to demonstrate my knowledge and abilities to potential customers.  While the travel costs may make some Speaking Engagements less appealing than others, that can be outweighed by the size of the event and the type of audience.  I am willing to consider any Speaking Engagement, big or small, anywhere in the US.

And don’t be concerned that I might stand and deliver a 60 minute commercial for my services.  I’d much rather provide meaningful content in order to demonstrate my ability than bore everyone telling them how great I am.  “Do a good job and pass out the business cards” is my motto.

What Does a Speaking Engagement Include?

I am able to speak on a variety of topics within the categories of the PHMSA/USDOT Hazardous Material Regulations and the USEPA (or State) Hazardous Waste Regulations.  Potential topics include:

  1. How to identify and train your DOT HazMat Employees.
  2. The requirements of the DOT and the EPA for the off-site shipment of hazardous waste.
  3. Federal & State requirements for the management of hazardous waste.
  4. Training requirements of the EPA for Hazardous Waste Personnel
  5. On-site management of Used Oil.
  6. Determination of hazardous waste generator status.
  7. The top violations cited by the US DOT and the US EPA and how to avoid them.
  8. On-site management of Universal Waste.
  9. How to conduct a complete hazardous waste determination.

…And many more, just let me know what you’re interested in.

Conference RegistrationHow do I Schedule you for a Speaking Engagement?

Contact me through any of the normal channels and let me know of the date(s) you are interested in.  I will contact you as soon as I can to discuss further.

Advantages to Having me for a Speaking Engagement:

All content and no advertising.  I understand that what you are looking for is someone to provide valuable content to your members, not someone who stands up and delivers and hour-long commercial for themselves.  I get it.  In return for the opportunity to show people what I can do, you receive a skilled and knowlegeable presenter for your meeting.

Speaking Engagement FAQ’s:

How much do you charge for a Speaking Engagement?

No charge to you, though some compensation for my expenses would be nice.  I just want an opportunity to get myself in front of people who may become my customers.

How long can your presentation be?

That’s up to you. I can provide an hour to an hour and a half of original content (see above). Longer may require me to fall back on one of my existing hazardous waste or HazMat transportation presentations.

Please contact me to discuss my ability to be a speaker at your next meeting or event.
